# How can I customize my Zenbooth?

## 🎨 Customizing Your Zenbooth

Zenbooths are built from sturdy, wood-based panels with acoustic felt inside, which makes them **very customization-friendly** compared to all-metal or thin-panel pods. You can safely mount a wide range of accessories to make the space feel truly yours without compromising the structure when done correctly.

### **✨ Standard Customizations (Included When You Order)**

Every Zenbooth comes with a set of built-in customization options you can choose during the ordering process — no special requests needed. These options let you tailor your booth’s look and functionality while staying fully within our standard production and warranty support.

Here’s what you can customize at purchase:

### **🎨 Exterior Color (All Models)**

All Zenbooth models are available in two finishes:

- **White**
- **Maple**

These finishes are durable, easy to maintain, and designed to blend into a wide range of professional interiors.

### **🪑 Desk Options**

For the **Solo**, you can choose between:

- **Fixed-height desk** (simple, sturdy, and great for shorter work sessions)
- **Electric sit–stand desk** (height-adjustable for ergonomic flexibility)

The Solo Pro and Duo come standard with an electric adjustable desk. If no desk is desired in the final assembly, simply do not install the desk during setup.

The Quad comes completely unfurnished.

Three of our models offer optional privacy upgrades you can add at checkout:

- **Locking Door** – adds a key lock to the door handle for private work, therapy, or HR use cases
- **Frosted Glass** – increases visual privacy while still allowing light to pass through

These options are popular in medical, counseling, education, and HR settings where extra confidentiality is important.

### **🔊 Exterior Acoustic Side Panels (Solo Pro Only)**

The **Solo Pro** supports an additional acoustic upgrade:

- **Exterior Acoustic Side Panels**

These panels attach to the outside of the booth to enhance sound absorption in open or echo-prone environments. They’re especially helpful in polished-concrete, glass-heavy offices or high-traffic hallways.

### **🤝 Further Customizations**

If you’re looking for something beyond the options listed here, our Sales Team can help explore a custom-built solution. Zenbooth is uniquely positioned to support custom solutions, thanks to our in-house R&D and Production Teams. This integrated capability allows us to take on a wide range of modification requests, full custom builds, and even OEM projects with confidence and precision.

Custom projects vary in scope, but here are the key things to know up front:

- **Lead Time:** Custom products have a lead time of **90 days** from receipt of payment.
- **Cost:** Pricing ranges from **hundreds to several thousand dollars**, depending on complexity. Most customizations must be quoted by our design team.
- **Best Fit:** We generally recommend custom work for customers not on a tight timeline, not cost-sensitive, and ideally purchasing more than one booth (though there’s no minimum order required).
- **Process:**
- We start with a **discovery call** to understand your needs.
- You’ll complete our **Customization Request Form**.
- Our team provides a **custom quote within 1-3 weeks** for the proposed customization or prototype.
- **Final Sale:** All custom Zenbooths are **non-returnable**.

### **🧩 What Can I Safely Add to My Zenbooth?**

In general, you can mount **light to medium weight items** to the wood walls and acoustic felt panels, as long as you follow the mounting guides and stay within the weight and screw-length limits.

Common interior add-ons:

- Whiteboards and small pin boards
- Shelves for books, plants, or light storage
- Hooks for bags, headphones, or coats (great for mounting to desk)
- Clocks or small bulletin boards
- Microphone, camera, or light mounts
- Compact speakers or sound bars
- Artwork, posters, and photos (pinned or lightly mounted)

Common exterior add-ons:

- Occupancy or scheduling signs
- Nameplates or room labels
- Simple exterior hooks or organizers
- Small planters or decorative elements
- Exterior lighting near the entrance (not wired into booth circuitry)

The soft interior acoustic felt panels are made from **PET fiber** (recycled plastic bottles). They are designed to:

- Absorb sound
- Provides a surface you can use push pins and screws on
- Safely hold objects under 10lbs

You can:

- Pin up photos, notes, calendars, and lightweight decor
- Use small screws (per mounting guide) in designated zones
- Mount items up to roughly **10 lbs** directly into felt-covered zones (check your model’s mounting guide for exact locations & limits)
- Cover the whole panel in a fabric of your choice using steel pins, totally transforming the interior of the booth.

Avoid:

- Soaking felt or using heavy adhesives
- Mounting very large or heavy objects on felt-only areas

### **🛠️ How to Mount Safely (All Models)**

All booths follow the same basic mounting approach:

**Tools & hardware (not included):**

- Drill
- Tape measure
- 1/8" drill bit for pilot holes
- **1½" fully threaded wood screws** (max length)

**Basic steps:**

1. **Measure from a corner**
2. Use a nearby corner as your reference point so you know exactly where you’re drilling.
3. **Always pre-drill holes**
4. Use a 1/8" drill bit to pre-drill through the acoustic felt and/or into the wood panel behind it.
5. **Mount with 1½" wood screws**
6. Attach your hardware using 1½" wood screws (do not use longer screws—those can hit hidden components inside the wall).

**Weight limits & safe zones:**

- Some **interior and rear wall zones** are rated for **heavier loads** (up to ~100 lbs) for things like monitors or small cabinets.
- Other zones and lighter felt-only areas are intended for items up to ~10 lbs.

Because weight zones vary by model and location, always check your **model-specific Mounting Guide** before mounting anything.

### **💻 Monitors, TVs & Tech Mounts**

You can absolutely run a fully tech’d-out booth, just be thoughtful about **weight, location, and clearances**.

### **Monitors / TVs on the wall**

- Most customers mount **a single monitor** or small TV in a reinforced zone on the interior wall.
- Use only the zones and weight limits called out in your mounting guide (some rear/interior zones are rated up to ~100 lbs).
- Always use appropriate mounting hardware rated for your screen.

### **Important for Solo & Duo with adjustable desks**

If your booth has an **electric sit–stand desk**:

- Make sure any wall-mounted item will **not interfere with the desk’s full travel range**.
- For many setups, a **desk-mounted monitor arm** is easier and more flexible than a wall mount.

### **Cameras, Mics & Lights**

These are usually light enough to:

- Mount on the acoustic felt or wall
- Attach to a monitor, desk clamp, or tripod.

Many customers like to brand or visually soften their booths. Common options:

- **Window films** (frosted, patterned, or logo decals) on the glass
- **Vinyl graphics** or decals on the exterior panels and lower interior
- **Magnetic or adhesive signs** on doors or walls (where appropriate)

Good rules of thumb:

- Use **removable** vinyl or films where possible
- Avoid dark, heat-trapping films in very hot sun-exposed locations
- Don’t cover safety stickers, electrical labels, or important warnings

**Zenbooth does not offer branded vinyl wrapping as a service**, and we recommend working with a local vinyl wrapping professional once the Zenbooth(s) has been fully assembled to avoid misalignment. Please reach out to **support@zenbooth.net** for panel dimensions if needed.
